Welcome to the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Adventurous Journey section, congratulations for completing the Bronze level! If you are a direct Silver entrant, welcome! Now that you have a base level of knowledge and experience in the outdoors, the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award will help you take the next step.

Minimum number of participants for an event to go ahead is 6.
Minimum number of participants to book a private event is 8.
This combined Training and Practice event is a two-day skills intensive trip that will include a short walk into a hut or campsite, with the main focus being development of skills to prepare you for your Qualifying Journey. You can expect these days to be active, engaging and hands on!
Our experienced instructors will make use of teaching and learning opportunities throughout the trip, and the curriculum will be flexible depending on the needs of the group. We will focus on the specific areas where you need to upskill. At the end of the trip, your instructor will give you a personalized report so you know what to focus on in your further Qualifying Journey preparation.
Free transport is provided from our base in Avondale.

Students must have completed their Silver Training and Silver Practice Journey before undertaking their Silver Qualifying Journey.
The Silver Qualifying Journey aims to apply the skills and knowledge you have gained from your Training and Practice. Your instructor will offer guidance and keep you safe but you will operate with as much independence as possible!
Free transport is provided from our base in Avondale for all locations except Great Barrier Island.
